The Script in the Closet,” a first-rate farce
By Ernece B. Kelly – Drama Critic: newyorkbeacon.com

With its zany title, “The Script in the Closet”, most theatergoers would guess they’re going to spend a time with comedy, and they would be right.

Playwright Joyce Griffen’s two-hour drama (she also directed) is a first-rate farce with
characters rushing in and out of several doorways, and indulging in exaggerated behavior such as
one character’s limp, so extreme the audience laughed instead of pitying her! ……..

……Liquor is consumed freely by both husbands and wives, making for hilarious exchanges, some of
which also point to husbandly resentments of their wives’ social expectations. Eventually, sex toys
and a Russian prostitute are brought into the lives of the two couples in their efforts to
compete with whoever that rival is writing on the laptop!
